A common condition seen in the clinic is symptoms of wetness and heat congesting in the lower burner. These symptoms can be very similar to Candida or other related fungal infections. Clear Heat Toxins:

Sophora Root (Ku Shen) is used in TCM formulas to treat dysentery, parasites, ringworm, and fungal skin conditions. It is a broad spectrum of anti-fungal and anti-infective. Its mild diuretic effect aids in eliminating Wetness and Heat. Sweet Wormwood, also known as Artemisia Annua, (Qing Huo) has been the center of medical studies showing an extremely effective treatment of malaria. It is also used traditionally to treat dysentery and other intestinal Wet Heat type conditions and parasitic infections. Mahonia (Oregon Grape Root) clears Wet Heat and acts as a broad-spectrum anti-infective. Black Walnut (husk) is used in almost all formulas to kill and purge intestinal parasites. It is also used as an anti-fungal both for internal and skin-related conditions. Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is often used as an aid and restorative for stomach and bowel disorders, including Crohn’s disease, leaky bowel, colitis, diverticulitis gastritis, ulcers, and intestinal flora imbalance.
