Dr. Badmaev is a fifth generation doctor. He is the great-grandson of Sul-Tim Badma; physician-lama, master Tibetan healer, family doctor to the Czar of Russia. Dr. Badmaev received his medical degree in 1975 and a PhD in microbiology in 1978. He was a research fellow in immunology at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. In 1985 he founded the Laboratories of Applied Pharmacology which introduced several natural pharmaceuticals derived from Tibetan medicine into the U.S. and 
foreign markets. Dr. Badmaev has published over 50 books on Tibetan medicine and medical science, and has done extensive studies in Tibetan medicine and traditional healing. He is currently Vice President of Scientific Medical Affairs for Sabinsa Corporation.
