In the interest of answering some commonly asked questions, and relaying some additional thoughts to you, we have developed the "Ask Herb and Herbette" column. Their true identity is a group of very highly trained and experienced professionals Pacific BioLogic relies on for commentary such as this. To the risk of omitting acknowledgment to a colleague, we have elected to not list their names, but just to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU for their contributions.

Frequently Ask Questions:

?	Full vs. Empty vs. Half Full vs. Half Empty? Such is the question often asked about taking herbal remedies. The "suggested use" schedule says "Take 20 minutes or 1 hour before or after eating". You say "I’ll take them when I want to!" Which is correct?
Ans.	Herb says: "Your body will receive the most benefit on an empty stomach". You want to have the highest concentration of the product enter your body so it can start the healing process. When taken with food, it dilutes the medicinal, which makes it less effective. Your body will not receive the full benefit from the product.

?	When I take a capsule or tablet, they never seem to go down right, or they get stuck. How can they be swallowed easier?
Ans.	Herb says: he had this problem when no one told him bouillon cubes dissolve in water first. It is common for folks to tilt their heads back when swallowing. This action compresses and distorts the throat. Solution: Try putting the tablet or capsule in you mouth with a sip of water and tilting your head forward slightly. The pill(s) naturally floats up. Then just swallow. Some people will make a tea from the contents of the capsule or the tablet which is OK, but don’t use a gallon of water. Use only a few ounces to maintain the efficacy of the product.

?	Why does the "suggested use" have such a broad spectrum on some products? What is right for me?
Ans.	Herbette is proud of her figure and her height of 4’11ž". Herb is in a totally different atmosphere with thin air (and hair) and weighs 312 pounds. Herbette has acute symptoms and her doctor recommended taking the highest recommended dosage. Herb is using the same product to correct a different affliction. He is taking the minimal suggested dosage. Unfortunately, Pacific BioLogic cannot say "Take this amount of product". We do not know your specific condition, and we could be in big trouble with every ethics committee there ever was for making those types of recommendations.

?	I took my herbs for the first time this morning and I don’t feel any changes this afternoon.
Ans.	Herbette knows what you mean. She says that with some formulas like NATURAFED or CHILL OUT, relief will be felt soon after taking the product; but with ORTHOFLEX or RESIST, you may not notice a difference for two days or two weeks. Those new to taking herbs expect instantaneous results. We would love to give you such a product but our formulas are designed to gently heal. Rather than destroy – good and bad – typical of Western practices, we use a different approach. Pacific BioLogic uses a truly holistic healing system that takes into consideration the entire environment that surrounds a particular illness. From this vantage point, treatment not only focuses on the main discomforting symptoms but also supports the entire body in restoring itself back to health.

?	What do you mean by "Escalating your dosage?"
Ans.	Herbette gives an example. She is just starting the RESIST program and the recommended dosage says 3 capsules 3 times per day. She will begin by escalating her dosage by taking 1-2 capsules 3 times per day for the first week, 2-3 the second, 3-4 the third. We recommend escalating dosages with RESIST-1 & 2, HY 2, ADAPTRIN, RECOVERY AMERICA, and BITTER MELON. On the other hand, formulas like SNOOZE, CHILL OUT, NATURAFED, ORTHOFLEX, or our COLD FORMULAS do not need escalated dosages.

?	Why is the price higher on some of your products relative to others on the market?
Ans.	Many products are just ground herbs. Look at the price for DIGESTEASE vs. PROSTAID. DIGESTEASE is ground herbs with not much processing involved. The tablets you see is the quantity you get. PROSTAID on the other hand has three times the amount of product in it because of the extraction processes.

?	I called the other day and you were out of stock, and would be for two weeks. Can’t you do a better job at inventory control?
Ans.	Herb takes the hit. Lead-time is inherently long for our products. We depend on harvest and growing cycles, transportation, and government import inspections of raw herbs. Products like RESIST, HY 2, and ADAPTRIN are continuously undergoing studies that yield new uses and new users. This is very good for all concerned, but creates an uneven demand for the product. We do our best to control inventories so you will have product when you need it, but we will not compromise our quality by buying a lesser grade raw material or cutting corners to save our embarrassment.
